Apparel Printing

We have the capability and equipment to screen print large orders of 10,000 pieces or more. Yet we are still small enough to screen print as few a 24 pieces per order. We have no hidden fees such as screen charges or setup fees. We are dedicated to providing you with quality work at very competitive prices. We also ship for free on all orders to the continental US via UPS or FedEx Ground on all orders over $200.

The Process

Custom Screen printing is the process of using a photosensitive emulsion to create a stencil on a fine mesh screen through which ink is forced to form a customized decorative design. This is done by separating your design into its individual colors. A film positive of each color is then created on an acetate film. This film is applied to the screen and it is exposed to ultra-violet light. Each color in the design requires a separate screen (5 colors = 5 screens). The UV light hardens the emulsion in the area of the stencil where no ink will pass during printing. The unhardened portion of the emulsion is washed out with water and the stencil is created.

Custom Sublimation printing uses moisture-wicking polyester combined with direct printing to keep from adding extra weight or material. These are great for teams and runners who need to wear custom t-shirts, but need them to be as light as possible. Sublimated color blends with the color on which they are printed, so the best result comes from printing on white or light colored garments. There is no cracking or peeling in a sublimated print, they last as long as the garment. Unlike screen printing, there is no need for separate screens, films, or a great deal of setup for sublimation. Though you may well need to have us refine your art, the process thereafter is straightforward, and on smaller orders may prove less expensive overall than screen printing. Though art charges may apply for this level of customization, seeing as each garment is printed from its own transfer rather than in mass production on the same set of screens, this method makes it much easier to add individual customization to each printed item.

Art Requirements

Vector Art is art that is built (actually drawn) in a vector or object based program such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash, Corel Draw or Macromedia Freehand. Each object in vector file can be selected and individually manipulated independently from the rest of the image. Common files extensions for this type of file include .ai, .eps, .cdr and .fla. When providing such files, it is important to convert fonts to curves or create outlines for all text used. For a vector art file (i.e. Adobe Illustrator file) with no placed images resolution is not a concern.

Photographic Art (or photo realistic design), also known as Raster Art, is art that incorporates scanned in imagery, or art that is built in a pixel based program such as Photoshop, Fireworks or Photopaint. Common file extensions for such files are .psd, .tif, .jpg, .gif and .png. This includes any art built in a vector based program that also incorporates imported or placed photographic elements.

In order to reproduce a photographic image, we require a file with a resolution of 300 dots (pixels) per inch or the actual photo.

Art created in word processing program, spreadsheet programs, or powerpoint is unacceptable. Common file extensions for such files are .doc, .xls, and .ppt.

Quality Embroidery

We are capable of producing large jobs of thousands of pieces or more. Yet, we are small enough to produce just one embroidered shirt. Contract embroidery, we do that. No job is too big or too small. We offer free shipping anywhere in the continental US via UPS or FedEx Ground on orders over $200. Polo & Golf Shirts - Dress Shirts - Fishing Shirts - Hats - Bags - Team Uniforms - Towels - Jackets - Aprons - and More...

The Process

Digitizing is the process of converting a graphic or text into an embroidery program file (.dst file) which will run on an industrial sewing machine. While most embroiders charge a set fee per thousand stitches for creating a custom embroidery logo, digitizing is FREE for any custom order over 48 pieces and only a minimal charge if your order is under 48 pierces. There is no minimum order size for embroidery and we do offer "program pricing" (call for details).

The type of fabric your design is being embroidered on makes a HUGE impact on both how we digitize your logo and how that logo will end up looking on the garment. In general, the stronger the fabric, the better the embroidery looks. For example, twill, canvas, poly denier nylon (like bags and duffels), most outerwear materials and other very sturdy fabrics sew extremely well. Small lettering looks fantastic and logos don't need as many underlay fill stitches to maintain the integrity of the design.

On the flip side, very soft or flimsy fabrics, like rayon, silk, soft pima cotton, dry fit fabrics and other very delicate garments, require a very different digitizing approach and more underlay stitches to stabilize the design.

High pile fabrics like fleece, sweatshirts, hoodies, polar fleece, terry cloth (beach and bath towels) and other thick fabrics hide the small detail of a custom embroidery design and therefore have to be modified to work well on those substrates.

Signs & Banners

Your signage is your "voice on the street", getting your message out to customers and potential clients. Signs and banners let passing motorists and pedestrians know about your business, event, or team. Let trade show attendees know who you are and what your product or service can do for them. Signs and banners are among the most cost effective ways to get your message out.

The Process

Self-adhesive, computer cut vinyl is one of the most common materials used in sign making today. It is a durable, PVC film manufactured in sheets and rolls in hundreds of colors and patterns. Mitchell Design & Graphics, Inc. computer cuts lettering, logos and other graphics in the sizes and colors required to meet your project specifications. Vinyl adheres to glass, aluminum, steel, plastic, wood or virtually any clean, smooth surface. Most of the professional lettering and graphics you see around you every day is created this way.
